In case it's not been seen

Sorry forum not allowed to post link
Government seem to want to change the contract we made with them re Feed In Tariff
Can it be legal for one side of a contract to change it ?
The "survey" is extremely biased to get the results they want , even down to giving two options , make it worse or very worse , no option to keep it as is.
Form seems to submit if you don't select one of the two impossible options and put note in comments .

People no longer get the 50% deemed export?Obviously, anyone with solar panels will object to the money they receive being cut, and like you say, is it ethical to break the contract.Do we have any options? I am with Good Energy and I haven't changed the contract/tariff because I am unsure about the paperwork.0

Personally, I'm surprised they didn't adjust the indexation earlier.0

Can't say that I'm really bothered, I've already received well over twice my original investment and any index used for updating payments will continue to increase that. However, I have done as DrJohnSmith suggests and filled in the survey without choosing a preferred alternative but with comments suggesting that scheme should remain operating in accordance with original promises and that any changes would further erode public confidence in government.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq54

I'm with the above poster really. A shame but the returns were good: 1k last 4 payments on an investment of £K6~ 12 years ago.I haven't checked the link yet, but the deemed 50% is a reasonable target as although I haven't got batteries or an ASHP the average export must have come down considerably as a result of those who do.1

The consultation doesn't seem to say anything about deemed export?0

Once a smart meter is installed, you will be paid for the actual amount of electricity you export, rather than the previous estimate. If you export more than the 50% estimate, you will likely earn more income, but if you export less, your income will be lower.I am not sure if this applies to me, as I have a smart meter, but my generation meter has not changed.

The consultation seems to be solely about whether FIT generation rates should increase by RPI or by CPI. Neither of the options would reduce the rates paid.2

To your specific case, what deemed export rate are you paid, and do you know what percentage of your generation you actually export? Note your smart meter will almost certainly be recording export, even if the figure isn't used.0 -
My FIT is with a different company to my electricity purchases and I'm not aware that the FIT lot have any access to my smart meter.
My house is arranged to export as little as possible so it's beneficial to accept the pittance paid via the FIT scheme for half the generation. Should I have to be paid on actual exports, I'll be declining the FIT-rate export payments and open a SEG account.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq51 -

Neither of the options would reduce the rates paid.I believe RPI is the highest measure of inflation and CPI the lowest. CPIH is the best measure of inflation, as recommended by the ONS.So changing to a poorer measure of inflation would be wrong.1
