NEXT Pay in 3 - What The Actual...

I recently bought an item of furniture from NEXT and was tempted into opening a NEXT Pay in 3 account in order to bag a discount. I have since tried to buy an item of clothing and I'm now unable to pay using a normal payment card unless I sign out of my NEXT account and pay as a guest using a different email address. At checkout the only option is to pay using Pay in 3. I would have thought that would quickly get very confusing with multiple "pay in 3" items on the account.
Doesn't this seem like a ploy to ensnare customers into opening and using a credit account with confusing payment options and painful interest rates?

You've spotted it!!! All of these things seem to be set up to befuddle and eventually cause the customer to end up paying more due to fees, interest, etc - all the things the accounts purport to save you from. I've got a Creation account with B&Q and even that is a nightmare as they don't even send you statements - I'm not sure how they are able to do business legally.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
