Morning! Cat trapping attempts continue, it attacked my little girl last night so it's definitely going today to the vets for rescue and placement. Can't be having that. Cake was good, I think I'll make that one again but I will try to find slightly deeper tins. The crumb looked dense but was light as a feather. No more faff really than doing the normal method if you have a stand mixer anyway...probably a bit more faff with beaters. Now the Christmas cake making begins, so I'll be getting out what I have left from last year and working out what I need. I think it'll be eight cakes this year again, they're a great way of giving a present without giving a present if that makes sense. And I know they'll be eaten
I was listening to the radio yesterday ont he way to take the chip scanner back and was hearing Waitrose have a third off roasting joints, and I thought, well, so that makes them about normal supermarket price then.....Ruby, best thing to do [ speaking from experience] is to just disengage, don't bother with a long email, just say, thank you but I won't be taking the job, and leave it there and then block her. You don't owe anyone an explanation and the more you engage, the more they will, the more you'll worry about it. You will probably never see this woman again, and her opinion/wants/needs are not your problem. Waggy finger. You are a nice person and don't need this drama.SO, I had that done once when I noticed a weed growing out of the gutters, it went on the compost pile but it did stink too1 Gers, happy tripping, don't forget to stop off at the Italian deli [ anything to do with Alexander McCall Smith?
Rosy, do you make the focaccia? If so, you know I want a recipe, I've tried all sorts but it never comes out deep and fluffy...hope you dg doesn't do that again! TA, enjoy your day out if you go...Izzy, that's a good deal! Maybe you need a bigger freezer?
I'm off to trap a cat and stay in today, it's forecast rain rain rain so no outside jobs today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -
Good afternoon all
Overcast, we've already had a shower. OHs car went in for a MOT yesterday, and thankfully passed. We are talking about selling both cars next year and having one. The trouble is what OH wants is not what I want. The search continues.
Either ham, egg and chips tonight or kievs. See what we want later.
Ruby, definitely the right decision, some people defy description.
Enjoy the rest of the day, take care.7 -
@-taff,sorry no recipe to forward,it's a good old MandS one. I usually get one as part of the meal deal if it's included so it works out a bit cheaper
I don't think my breadmaking skills are at the level needed
Good luck cat catching! We got 1 part of DGS birthday present for later in the month, and some small gifts for DGD for X mas, at least I've made a start. Had a bit of lunch out at the retail park, and bought some food bits too so I don't need a delivery this week.Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
