Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers enjoy your trip to Glasgow.
At last it's forecast for a dry day, fed up with the wind and rain.
Another one here wondering how the freezer gets into such a mess.
Just had a chap come and clear the gutters, couldn't believe the amount of moss and bits he removed.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Have a safe trip and I hope all goes well. It promises to be another gloomy day here, similar to yesterday with light drizzle and no sun. But it's feeling mild again, up to 15 deg!
All being well it's lunch with DF today but, as always, it's dependant on how her DH is. I should be getting a text soon. The new meds are still keeping him easier to live with but some days he can be really confused, yet others he is fine. Strange.
The tall freezer in turmoil got sorted yet again yesterday and all the little pots, packs of l/o etc are now all together in a poly bag in the small freezer, so no need to rummage for whichever little pack I am looking for. I'll see how that works.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care x

Morning all
Dry here for now but rain due at lunch time and for the rest of the day, I have two people coming today and we are going to meet our friends for bowling and lunch out.
I have now had two emails from the new lady, the first she tried to be quite official and told me things that I
had promised them (all not true) and that she was devastated about me not coming etc this went on for two pages with her basically ranting at me, I sent a long reply last night telling her of my cancer journey and that this had changed my outlook on my life / work balance and this is why I went self employed and set my hours, I also pointed out all the things she bought up in the email that were not true, I told her again I would not be taking the job. She emailed me again this morning saying how sorry she was and that I could still join them with my original hours and she would get other people to do the sleep in etc, I am now more determined than ever not to take the job, if she is like this now what would she be like in 6 months if I decided to leave ? I shall reply once more tonight being very factual (again) and say that I won’t be accepting the job and that I won’t be replying again, I have had a very bad night tossing and turning and thinking of the situation so I need this to end now.
Dinner tonight will be minty lamb chops with mash and veg, dd is off today so she will probably cook. I also need to do an online shop for food but I might try Tesco after the bad experience with Ocado last week.
Gers safe travels xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, enjoy your trip Gers. Wet again, yesterday we had a walk down the steps across the road to the river path - we couldn't believe how much water was coming down. From being a tiny trickle just a few weeks ago it was roaring down- LDog was quite fascinated, well that and squirrel spotting
We enjoyed the meatballs in tom sauce last night, although DS was disappointed to see it wasn't our favourite garlic/rosemary foccacia- just one that had been in the freezer a while. I knew what he meant! We picked up DGS from school, shocked when we saw his face, he had a bruise on his cheek& eye. He went to a birthday party , where there is a kind of climbing wall and trampolines to land on but his leg was tucked up and his knee went in his face! Not sure what's for tea but we are going out to hopefully pick up some things for DGS birthday so we could pick something up. I quite fancy salmon but there isn't any in the freezer.Ruby, sorry about your washer/floor. Hope you can sort it soon.Taff, the cake sounded good.Silver-oldie, that's a job that needs doing here too!Hopefully have a good day all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, safe trip and hope the appt goes well.
Ruby that's shocking. I think if you took the job with the hours you state she would push other little jobs on to you until she gets what she wants, best to walk away. Hope your WM leak is getting sorted. I would recommend an industrial dehumidifier - there was one here when the damp proofing was going on and it was brilliant (especially for drying the washing!).
I walked down to the library yesterday and got a few bits at the shops, glad I went out in the morning as the weather turned nasty later on but surprisingly mild.
Nothing planned today but will get out for a walk if it stays dry.
Those sausages sound delicious Izzy.
Hope DGS's face heals up quickly Rosy.
Hugs to those in need, take care. XX10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Safe journey to Glasgow x
You are right to stick to your guns @RedRuby1231 the lady sounds like a piece of work. Hope you get the WM issue sorted.A few errands to run today including the post office and a charity shop drop. Need to collect DH and pal from the airport at 10:15pm so will fuel up and check my tyres today too.Have a good day all

Morning all and thanks @Gers for today's start. Safe journey and fingers crossed all goes well. Yet another cloudy and wet day in store here, especially from mid evening onwards to be followed by heavy rain overnight. Mild again though, around 14 or 15 deg.
Yesterday I stripped the bed in the guest room, got sheets etc washed and in the TD for a short cycle before finishing it off on the airer overnight. I was watching the smart meter IHD to see just how much electricity the TD would use and it wasn't quite as bad as I'd expected. Not that I use it very much anyway but I was just curious. The rest of the day was spent doing little pottering jobs. I've noticed over the last few evenings that the SM C-ads are in full swing now on TV and it reminded me I need to book a C-delivery slot before they all disappear.
Not a lot happening today, just the same old, same old, apart from ordering a new e-script for my meds and dealing with today's post - only one piece of junk mail, the rest looks rather official. Tea tonight is the last two lamb kebabs from the freezer with Sunday's leftover potatoes, veg and gravy and h/m rice pudding for afters.
@SO - Are you still going out with the Walking Group?
@TA - I'm another one that tries to keep all the frozen bits and pieces together in one container - generally successful but not always!
@Ruby - Good for you for declining the new lady, it obviously wouldn't work so best to walk away now.
Have a good day all - even if it's not an exciting one! Take care, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Wind, rain, weather warning for torrential rain...Bah - Humbug!
Back still bad, car in for MOT and work after it died on me yesterday. A new to me date postponed last minute!
Same old, same old in Mehefinland
Hugs and spoons as always
