Cahoot/Rapport

I have just joined Cahoot, and they advise installing Rapport software.
Firstly, should I? I use either Chrome or Firefox on Android tablets for internet banking. No apps. On home wifi only.
Secondly, in the event of any issue, would I potentially not get reimbursed if I haven't used the software they've suggested?

I've had a Cahoot account for 10+ years and have always declined the offer of Rapport.
I see they're part of IBM which might give some reassurance if you do decide to install it

Santander nagged me to install Rapport for years, but I declined, as I was happy with my own security.

Rapport used to have a dreadful reputation in the world of Corporate Sysadmins that I used to hang around with.

We're talking a good few years ago so it might have changed but it was a resource hog and extremely intolerant of any other AV or anti-malware or other random software that's running alongside it.

Don't think it will do any actual harm to your machine, never felt the need for it myself, but the one person I know who did install it took it off after a week claiming their machine was noticeably more sluggish with it.

It's a common thing for banks to suggest installing protective/anti-virus software - I've never done it on the basis that Microsoft's stuff will probably do the job. And I suspect the comment that another layer will slow things down is spot on. So "ignore" is probably sound advice. I wonder if banks get paid to promote it?
