Received first letter of claim…?

Hello,
This is the third letter I’ve had for this ‘offence’ which I cannot recall 3 years ago. Not sure why this has taken over a week to be delivered.

This letter says it’s a letter of claim but also states that I should ‘deal with this as a matter of urgency to avoid a claim being made’…. Which one is it!?

Its a typical letter of claim giving you 30 days notice
Respond by email to the info@ address for dcb legal, using the template response seen in post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad
Then wait for the inevitable N1SDT court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL to arrive in the post in the next couple of months, same as everyone else2 -
They will make a claim (but will ultimately discontinue it**). Deal with this Letter of Claim as advised in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, post number TWO.

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Also I’m trying to prepare things in case I need to defend this… but I have absolutely no idea the details of this ‘offence’ e.g. no camera evidence of my car stay or who was driving e.t.c how can I find this evidence to support my case without shooting myself in the foot by contacting these crooks..?
I’ve had two DCBL letters just with £170 demands and my reg plate and a date, nothing else.1 -
Thanks I’ll get that email sent.0

No evidence is needed until the Witness Statement stage next year, in 6 to 12 months
Its better to defend a claim based on the claim details, not the rest, until the WS stage, stay in the dark for now
Not receiving paperwork is no defence, just a personal statement from your perspective, doesn't mean that it wasnt sent to the address listed on the DVLA database, even if it was an old address, your problem, not theirs
We see that statement every day on here, like groundhog day, it's almost always the fault of the keeper by moving address and not informing the DVLA promptly, a legal requirement on the keeper
Parking companies send multiple invoices to the listed address , regardless of if its correct
Speeding, Caz , Ulez , the police, councils, and others, all use that database address for the service of papers, old or not3 -
Thanks I am just getting that email ready but reading the paragraph under the generic solicitors email:
'You can briefly also state your reasons for disputing the claim and/or state (if true) it was so long ago you have no idea what it's about and/or (if true) that you were not the driver and do not believe their client can hold the keeper liable.'
- It is true I do not have any idea what the details were for this and I do not know if I was driving... Should I add this too then or just stay in the dark as you put?

Just add that you have zero knowledge of any alleged breaches or who was driving at the time1

Reply from solicitors just for note.
