Damage to property

I recently had a new roof installed, the contractors have damaged my roughcasting and trim on the external cladding making the trim kinda loose, this has happened when they’ve been shovelling up debris, sadly I don’t have before photos, though my neighbour can confirm that there was no damage to my property, before any work was done, the said contractor has stated it must have been like that for a while, it wasn’t, he has now done a repair which which he has said give it a few day to colour blend, I’m really not happy with the repair, him doing this repair does this not mean he’s accepting responsibility for the damage, any help of advice would be grateful
