GamesIndustry.biz has learned that Sony Computer Entertainment has chosen HMV as the official retail partner for the UK launch of PlayStation 3.

I'm pretty sure 2 is the "Halo 3". It made the news on the MCV website due to crowd control fears from the local council.

Official figures for the UK launch of the PlayStation 3 are, frankly, astonishing with the PS3 selling 165,000 units since launch on Friday 23rd adding up to £70,125,000 worth in cash. And there are still 55,000 PS3s in the shops, from Sony's initial UK allocation of 220,000.

The figures, confirmed to us by Chart-Track (and also reported in industry bible, MCV)

Look pretty official to me.

I think that their only supposition is regarding peripheral sales such as games etc...
