Complete mess!

I ordered a screwdriver from Epictools on ebay for £11. They've sold over a million items, good feedback.

The item didn't arrive, so I contacted them and filed 'Item not received' request. No response from Epictools, but I see they told the carrier to return the item to them. At the end of 3 days, ebay refunded me.  (That's today.)

What concerns me, apart from the complete lack of communication from the seller, is that ebay now says the item has been delivered. Well,  not to me, so presumably back to the seller? Why are they telling me this, and are they going to claw back the refund?

All this fuss over £11. I definitely don't recommend this seller.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Was this simple delivery? Ebay had issues with some evri labels a couple of weeks back but I think that was related to collect in store orders.
I had a problem as a seller when ebay told me the item was being returned and then said it had been delivered to me to be relabelled, when in fact the courier had basically dumped it at the delivery address. Eventually it was returned to evri and made it back to me, I got a new qr code and posted it straight back out.
Is the tracking number evri or royal mail? If you go onto their website you get more detailed tracking and can see whether it recognises your postcode as the delivery address.

I have an item that the headline tracking says they attempted delivery, but the details say they couldn't access the locker (where the seller put it to be posted) and nothing's moved on the tracking since.  I haven't chased it with eBay yet, I've chased it with Evri, because it's not something I can easily buy elsewhere and I just want the item if possible!

    However,

It shouldn't be, as it definitely sounds like OP bought from a business.

    Yes, it was simple delivery.

Edit- I’m not sure what simple delivery means, perhaps?

I got various messages saying that it would arrive on Wednesday. Then the tracking showed that the item was too big and would require a special team to deliver it. It’s a screw driver about 20 cms long.

Evri were involved. I entered the tracking number plus my postcode and it said incorrect postcode.

Try the sellers postcode, I had this once where Evri had failed to deliver to me 3 times and then returned to the vendor, the delivery photo showed the vendor premises

Neither their postcode nor mine works.

All the couriers have been having issues on and off, some are quite localised. I personally haven't had any issues with Evri recently (I've probably jinxed it now!) but there are some on Vinted forums complaining stuff is going all over the place and tracking them is proving difficult.

Simple delivery means ebay arranges the postage, the seller can choose to offer free postage and ebay deducts the postage cost from the transaction, or for the buyer to pay for it. Typically the buyer gets a choice of standard or express delivery but ebay decides which carrier to use. Simple delivery is compulsory for most private sales but very hit and miss with business listings. But in that case evri's contract is with ebay, not the seller.
