Credit card reversal of Direct Debit

Hi All,
I am writing on behalf of my wife. She has a credit card Virgin, and was paying it off on 0% regular payments. But last month ( September) she got a email saying that the payment had been missed please make minimum payment. Why the direct debit was cancelled on September we didn’t know we made the required payment and set up a new direct debit. But now October the direct debit is reversed by Virgin without our consent or knowledge and had to make this minimum payment again, which is now wrecking our 0% plan.  Also we are in middle of purchasing a new house we don’t want any marks on our reports Thanks in advance

I'd probably start off by phoning your bank to see (a) why the original DD was cancelled, and (b) why the second one was reversed.
It's also worth phoning Virgin - most card issuers are actually very helpful in the case of a genuine error.  They're under no obligation to do so, but very often they'll reinstate the 0% offer if it's been cancelled due to a one-off late payment (I realise you've had 2 late payments, but there's no harm in asking).
But ultimately you need to find out why the DD was cancelled/reversed.  Without knowing more details, it's going to be very hard for anyone on here to make a guess as to the reason.
  • What do you mean 'reversed'?

Is the current account the DD is coming from also Virgin? Have you spoken to bank side rather tham credit card to try and identify the issue?

Have any of the payments actually been made late?

Has the DD been going out each month, or has it not gone out for a long time?
!!!!!! DD expire if not used after a certain period.
Also setting up a DD often does not take the payment that would be due that month.

Has it got anything to do with this?

Another possibility is that she did not have sufficient funds in her account to pay the Virgin D/D?

    Hi all,
Everything was going fine then all of a sudden the DD was cancelled. Our bank HSBC can't reinstall the DD because it's not on their side they say it's Virgin.
Happened again this month just a couple of days ago, they are getting lots of fees off us because they are not getting paid, but it's their own side, because they updated the software system.
