USB Stick issue

Long story short - was using a 16GB stick as a home for a Linux Mint distro whilst trying to revive a (very) old laptop. Didn't achieve my aims with the laptop - I think the HDD is toast.
But now the USB stick also appears to be b**********d.
The issue is that when I insert in the Windows PC , I get a message "insert a disc in USB drive F" plus a drive G appears labelled. EFI-SYSTEM ; under properties this "drive" is only 255MB.
I can format G, but the rest of the USB drive has vanished !!
Is there any way of retrieving the lost space on the stick ??

Brand new genuine 32GB stick from Samsung/Sandisk/Kingston is less than a tenner, don't bother with the glitching thing.1

If you go into START > RUN in windows and type DISKPART.
A command prompt will open up.
Type LIS DIS and enter and it will show which USB/Hard Drives are on the PC.
Type SEL DIS 2 (where 2 is your USB drive - obviously be careful to select the correct one) press enter.
Type CLE and press enter.
Once it completes (few seconds) type CRE PAR PRI.
Once completed type EXIT and enter.
Then go into Windows Explorer, click on the drive letter and it will ask you to format the USB. Let it format and you should have the full capacity back again.3 -
Yep, OP sounds like they know what they're doing, but just be careful.Peter999_2 said:
