Stanstead Drop Off PCN after the late payment
SillyHonest
I have received PCN for not paying drop off charge. I did explain them that there was an accident on the way back from Stanstead and I was late for another appointment therefore I forgot to pay. I did give them the driver's name and have paid for the previous day instead (even though I have not used their service on that day).
They acknowledged my payment and "aprreciate my honesty", but are returning the £7 and asking instead to pay £100 (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days - only 3 days left now).
As I already gave them all the details, is it better to pay the £60 before it becomes £100?

Too bad you wasted the golden opportunity to have this cancelled at the first appeal by blabbing the drivers identity. Never mind. Hopefully a lesson learnt to never, ever, reveal the drivers identity to an unregulated private parking firm.
Just ignore everything you receive from now on and it will eventually stop, as APCOA do not litigate. You can shred the debt recovery letters, usually from DRP, and use them as hamster bedding for all any one cares.4 -

Thanks very much. I guess it would be stressful to receive all the threatening mails, but it is very unfair from them to try to extortionate money from motorists that simply forget to pay within 24 hours.doubledotcom said:Too bad you wasted the golden opportunity to have this cancelled at the first appeal by blabbing the drivers identity.
