How much to lay vinyl in toilet

We've bought underlay and vinyl and just want someone to fit it in the toilet. I've taken up the old vinyl. It's about 1.5 to 2 square metres.
What's a reasonable price just for the labour?

Many trades won't charge out at less than half a day. It's simply not worth it to them. On that basis I would guestimate somewhere between £100 and £150. Hopefully the lower end of that.0

If Down South, then more like the higher figure.TELLIT01 said:Many trades won't charge out at less than half a day. It's simply not worth it to them. On that basis I would guestimate somewhere between £100 and £150. Hopefully the lower end of that.0 -
Look up local traders in your classified/traders ads in your freebie, local paper or their website. Phone and ask.
Lay out the flooring in a warm room id you have the space as it is not only easier to fit, but you
can get a better fit. Also ensure the price inc VAT, and sealant, ie fully fitted inclusive price.
Many years ago when we moved, I had a clown come and fit the temp flooring in the main bathroom as it had a carpet. When he started packing up his tools, I asked him, "What about the sealant around the w/c, etc.
His reply was, "I don't do it.. extra 35 quid" I said, "goodbye.."
With some of these traders, they will try and catch you out, so ask for a fully inclusive price inc sealant.
If you manage to get a local guy and are flexible, you should easily get it done
for l90 quid max - it will take him, 30/40 mins top.

The actual job may take 30 to 40 minutes but you have to add his travelling time and travel costs to that as an absolute minimum. It's unrealistic to expect only to pay for 40 minutes work.0

Could you use the old stuff as a pattern for the new?
Getting vinyl to fit well around a toilet is difficult. I've tried twice and never happy. Usually it's put in before a toilet is fitted so it can sit neatly on top and no need for a join at the back and problems with shrinkage however carefully laid.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I've bent a length of brazing wire around the toilet base to mark it out for glue down LVT. Works well if a rounded profile plus the silicone can cover any small gaps.twopenny said:Getting vinyl to fit well around a toilet is difficult. I've tried twice and never happy. But yes, flooring in first ideally.2 -
Hence, me posting " a local guy."0

Still expect to pay a full day's rate, though. He's unlikely to be able to get another local half day job on the same day as yours.UnsureAboutthis said:Hence, me posting " a local guy."1 -
Usually it's very easy to disconnect the toilet and remove it, then fix it back on the top of the flooring.danrv said:

The same applies to a pedestal (if you have one).1 -
I disagree, the OP vinyl area is very small. Unless the OPSilvertabby said:

demands the lino is laid under the toilet and a basin pedestal
if he has one, a 40-minute job for any experienced layer.
I said up to 90 quid, for a local, who does not charge vat, 60 to 70 quid tops.
Of course you can pay 150 or more, but you can also pay a lot, lot less as per my posts., more
so when the work is not urgent.0
