Good afternoon all, hope you enjoyed your lie in @Gers! I too stayed in bed for a bit longer this morning but was pleased to see blue skies when I eventually opened the curtains. Today it should stay dry during the day with more rain overnight; the rest of the week looks like being a wet one, albeit fairly mild for the time of year.
Thank you all for your hugs and kind words. This past year has been a bit of a roller coaster and no doubt there will still be some down days to come - after all, you don't spend 50+ years with someone and not miss them when they're no longer here - but if/when they happen I'll just go with the flow. Miraculously, the earache/neuralgia (or whatever it was) has stopped and I'm beginning to wonder if it was stress related in the build up to "the day" rather than something physical. Whatever the reason, I'm just glad it's gone.
On Friday I bought a tray of chicken thighs in Lidl and they're now in the SC; I'll have one today for dinner with the usual potatoes and veg and, once they've cooled down, will strip the meat off the others for future meals. The stock will also be useful for soup - maybe celery & bacon this week. This afternoon I want to finish the second cross stitch bookmark and continue with the jigsaw that's proving more challenging than I expected - but I will not be beaten!
Although not a fan of reality programmes, I might watch the new Tom Daley's Game of Wool one tonight.
@Gers - I never use the shower for hair washing, I always do it downstairs - I think it must be a hangover from childhood.
@Ruby - Far too many red flags there, definitely go with your gut; I'm sure you'll soon find something else. I hope you get a nice hotel for your Venice trip.
Happy Sunday all whatever you have planned - or not, as the case may be. Take care, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
