Service kits for Velux skylights cost £37 each. Is there a cheaper way?

After a lot of messing about I finally discovered there were moths coming out of a packet of dried porcini mushrooms we bought in a small shop in Italy. . . .Where we were seeing them was nowhere near the source of the problem.
@Slinky, I will keep this in mind if after I've inspected the strips of insect-proof tape in all 10 Veluxes I cannot find any point enabling small insects to enter.

Since putting up my post it has occurred to me that the moths may be in the attic and getting into a room below the attic by way of the holes in the metal plate which encircles the stainless steel, round, chimney-vent which rises vertically from a wood-burner on the ground-floor.

I am not familiar with these filters - I do have two small Veluxes, but no such filters fitted afaIk.

We have two medium sized ones, and I have just checked them and no filters.
@Albermarle, have you watched the video on the Velux web-page which I linked to?  It shows exactly where the insect "screen" or tape of gauze is located.  I've done a brief search to see if any Velux skylights come without insect screens and have found no evidence that they do.  One Velux page seems to imply that all of their skylights have such screens.  They say,"Let the insect screens thoroughly dry before replacing them into the skylights".

OK, found the foam strip now  :)

However the video does not show where the insect strip should be, so not sure if I have one or not .

I'd assumed we were talking about a proper 'plastic' grill, but it might just be the thin, flimsy 'foam' strip I do recall seeing on mine.

@WIAWSNB , yes, it's just a flimsy foam-like black strip along the top of the window-frame.

  • So, nobody knows of any economical source of either the padded tape or the insect-proof strip?

@Albermarle see the picture in my initial post.  The insect gauze is being pulled away from the top frame of the skylight frame - not from the moving window itself.
