What about Park and ride - Reading Borough Council

A couple of them are only £2.50 and you can pay the bus driver with coins.

I would have, but,,,,,, it ended on the 2nd of November.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest (Reading is my old manor  ). Much easier than driving into the town centre and trying to find a space in any of the central car parks.
