Thomas Cook Online - Have you used them in 2025?

My Canadian husband's parents have booked a 2 month holiday to Portugal to avoid the Canadian snow in February and March 2026.
They have invited us to join them which we would like to, during half-term in February (I work in a school) and we have been looking at flights as they have booked a 2 bedroom apartment. But of course, you look for flights and then add on bags and transfers and the price creeps up.
The cheapest we have found for flights and transfers separately is a total of about £700 but we could book a holiday, including the same hotel (and our own privacy) for £876 with Thomas Cook Online which we are very tempted with.
I obviously know Thomas Cook went out of business a while ago so we are wondering how safe our booking would be, even though the website shows ABTA & ATOL.
Should we book or stay away?

The Thomas Cook today has very little to do with the Thomas Cook that went out of business in 2019.
The brand was sold on and the new company started using it. Operates very much like OnTheBeach and Travel Republic where they take holiday components from other operators to create a package.
As you say it's financially protected by ATOL so money is safe.1 -
Thank you! It seems like the right thing to do to go for the package.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

No problem using them, but may be worth adding to the 'Beat my quote' thread at the top of this forum.0

The resurrected Thomas Cook now do not have their own airline of course, so they "partner" with various others - as above they are basically another online travel agent.0
