Morning GERS and all to follow. What a wet and windy night that was. I've been awake listening to the wind since silly o'clock. It all seems to have calmed down now I think but not looked out yet.
Shopping day but not until after lunch. DS is off to somewhere near York to look at a roller for the cricket club. I feared for his little car bringing that back but fortunately he knows a man with a van who is doing the transporting, assuming they buy it!
Yesterday got away with me but I don't know why as too much woolgathering went on instead of getting stuck into the Friday Tidy as intended. Oh well today is another day and the tasks still await.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning allLooks like a dry day today but going to be a bit gusty later.Making the base for tomorrow's shepherds pie and then baking a chocolate sponge. Apart from stripping and making the bed not much more going on hereHope everyone has a good day x11

Yesterday was a most foul day, battering rain which never stopped although strangely mild. After my disturbed night I really didn't do much except a few squats when I remembered. I watched Equaliser 3 in the afternoon, only spoiled by it being heavily in Italian with subtitles which meant I had to pay attention. 😁
There has been rain all night, not as noisily as last night but just as persistent. No Halloweeners here as the nearest children are miles away. I was remembering my childhood Halloween and how things have changed. My beloved DM used to buy a whole box of apples from the greengrocers along with bags of monkey nuts in their shells. No sweets were given or received. We children went guising (disguised) and didn't do any tricking.Enough looking back. I had a better nights sleep without getting up every half hour! No idea what I'll be doing today, something will fill it. I hope that everyone is doing well. Hugs to our poorlies.11 -
It was cosy in the campervan in Herefordshire last night - very damp outside though. Had a nice walk in the local area after arriving at the site, and the bonus here is a proper indoor dog wash, with a shower and warm water - Bdog was very pleased!Today is yet to be decided but possibly a visit to a castle or similar.Have a good weekend all

Morning all. Pinch, punch, first of the month.
I'm still trying to limit my time on the laptop but it's necessary some times. The sun's shining here and after lunch I'm getting the train down to London for an evening Morris event at Limehouse. This year I've booked myself into a P Inn instead of staying with DS.
We didn't have any Halloween callers as we don't decorate but DD and family near Bedford handed out 110 mini cauldrons of sweets last night. It's an area with lots of young families and DSiL has a big smoking cauldron outside, plus lots of decorations.
Made a Massaman curry last night for the first time and it was rather nice. There's enough left for another portion each; it's very filling.
Hope everyone is keeping well. Enjoy your weekend.11 -
Morning everyone it’s a miserable damp day here I’m working in the charity shop this afternoon there is a couple off with coughs and colds so I volunteered I won’t miss anything here just hubby sat watching the sport. I can’t believe it’s November I don’t know where last month went times flying one of the girls in the charity shop has booked us a train up to Edinburgh for the day in a fortnight I’m looking forward to it I wasn’t to ask twice and she got it at a good price. No Halloween callers here there isn’t any kids in the few streets where I live all grown up now . I need to pop out for some coffee and I haven’t a clue what we are having tonight I had better have a look we won’t starve. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all, welcome to the new month - hard to believe we're in November already. Thanks @Gers for today's thread; glad you had a better night's sleep. We had the three W's last night - wild, wet and windy. The rain has cleared (for now) and the sun is out but the sky is still grey; a changeable day in store with more overnight rain to come.
Yesterday was the first anniversary of DH's passing and finally I feel as if I can move forward a little rather than being in limbo. I had a welcome surprise visit from DS - I think he needed some company too. Anyway, he took me to the optician and the loose lens in my specs has been sorted out, after which we dropped off the bag of donations at the CS - no browsing though (not his "thing"). I jumped at his suggestion of a trip to Lidl though so that was our next stop and means I don't need a grocery delivery this coming week. I wish there was one nearer as I'd definitely use them more often. Somehow, a Stollen loaf for the festive season found its way into the trolley.
No Halloween callers last night but there were some fireworks going off at random intervals.
Today's tasks: finish the admin that didn't get done yesterday, a meal plan for the coming week that also didn't get done yesterday and one wash load (to be dried indoors). No idea what's for dinner tonight but there's plenty of choice.
Hugs for the poorly/sad/lonely ones, have a good weekend all and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
A special hug to @YorksLass for the anniversary. The first one after the death of a loved one is always the worst, good for your DS for being with you.Hope your Limehouse event doesn't make your hand worse @WL. A proper dog wash shower area sounds fab @AA, not something I've heard of before at camp sites. Hope the proper showers are just as good.I just got a call from NHS Scotland doing an appointment reminder - lucky they did as I had my MRI down as 28 November when it's actually 08 November, this coming Saturday. I've made arrangements to stay over with my friend Alan afterwards as the appointment is at 5.00p.m. All this means that I'm down in Glasgow on Tuesday and Wednesday, back home Thursday and then down again on Saturday. Just as well I cancelled my Hexham trip. The rain has stopped for now, I may have to go into the garden to pick up the blown over furniture - again!10

Morning all
Its been raining most of the night but stopped now and it’s sunny and blowy, OH has his work clothes in the wash and I have a towel load to go in after, it should almost dry outside then air off in front of the fire overnight.
We have a load of logs being delivered early evening, Fruball we get ours from a friend who works in forestry and he does us a really good deal so it doesn’t cost us too much, also OH is a carpenter so often brings the off cuts home which helps a lot, we do have central heating but have not put it on this year yet to try and cut costs.
Dinner tonight will be something with mince, I saw a recipe for cheeseburger wraps so may give that a try, I have some GF wraps left from yesterday.
I need to do some housework this morning and will then have a rest this afternoon, I think I now have gout in my knee as it’s really sore so I will try and keep off of it this weekend.
Yorkslass special hugs to you xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9
