executor having sibling trouble
" will need copies of bank statements, what there is,what needs to be paid and to whom and hopefully what we'll get at the end of it all, before you go off on a tangent my ex son in law will ask wheres the proof, its good having a lawyer in tbe family, but all the T's have to be crossed and all I 's dotted, anything not right he will spot it"
that was the last text after I informed her I'd received the letter of administration
I'm afraid my sister is really beginning to annoy me with this mistrust and seems veiled threats,
a Ii ok to just carry on settling my brothers estate without her interference, she didn't get in touch with my brother even though she new he had Mesothelioma, and only got in touch when she needed money, just seeking a bit of advice
thanks in advance

What does a American Lawyer know about British system?
Just tell her she will get a update once you have finalised everything, & supply copies of all paperwork at that point.Life in the slow lane5 -
All you need do once you have got in the last of the assets and paid the last bill is to give your sister her share of the estate and a set of estate accounts. You have no obligation to go further and provide copies of bank statements and bills expect unless you want to. A US lawyer has zero knowledge of UK law and should be told to go forth and multiply.

I am surprised that you are making an "interim payment", just wait until its all sorted.1

I’d cross the t’s and dot the i’s by not now making an interim payment!3

He's an ex son-in-law? what right has he to stick his nose in? Has he an interest in the estate?Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️, DH: 🏅🏅⭐️, DD1: 🏅 and one for Mum: 🏅4

don't make the interim payment - the American EX son in law who knows little is an EX and hence shouldn't be interfering2

UPDATEHI THIS IS A MESSAGE I RECEIVED FROM MY SISTER'S DAUGHTER, (she isn't even a beneficiary)
they were trying to see if they could get his pension but it only goes to his spouse or children of which he had neither, SISTERS DAUGHTER LIVES IN AMERICAReceived 9.05pm on Saturday 20th December.
Hey Barry, this is Tiffany.
So I'm wondering if you want to send me any paperwork from the electricity board, the inventory from Kevin's flat, the title for his Mercedes and any other paperwork necessary because I want my attorney to look at it and maybe get a forensic accountant involved too.
I can give you my contact information if you just text me back.oI can give you my work email, fax number, private email, you can scan it directly, take pictures of it, however you want to do i
But yeah, I just
I actually do want to.And if I need to get a forensic accountant, I will, but let me know.
And also if you haven't contacted the legal department of the electricity board, I'll get my attorney to contact them and find out about that pension.
Because it would go to the next in lineHe wouldn't just leave it to some female.
That's not who Kevin was.
So the title, the inventory from the house, and if you've been in touch with electricity board, and if not, I'll get my attorney to call their legal department and work out how that's done.

The sister's daughter isn't an executor, or a beneficiary, so I don't see why you should be dealing with her.1
