HELP Needed with Smart Parking DCB Legal Claim
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance regarding a court claim I’ve received from DCB Legal acting for Smart Parking.
Background:
- On 05/07/2021, I parked in a car park while visiting a curry house.
- I asked the restaurant owner where he parks, and he told me to park at the side of the curry house, which I did.
- Fast forward to now: Smart Parking passed my details to various firms, and I’ve now received a DCB Claim for £316.92.
I’m unsure what to do next:
- Should I pay the amount to avoid further costs?
- Is it worth defending this claim, and if so, what steps should I take?
- Are there any templates or guides for responding to the claim?
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. I really don’t want a CCJ but also feel this is unfair given the circumstances.
Thanks in advance!

2) definitely, show us the properly redacted picture of the claim form, hiding the name + address, claim reference number, VRM details and password, so hide 4 items
3) yes, study post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad and then study posts 1 + 2 in the defence template thread in announcements too1
