Because I'll have my phone out anyway a lot of the time for loyalty apps, reading my shopping list etc, so it's easier than having to get my card out of my wallet. Also i always check my banking app immediately after paying, so if I'm paying on my phone it's much easier as I get a notification and can verify the transaction and see what's left in a couple of seconds.Eyeful said:
2 .As you also have your card with you, can you expand just why it is vastly more convenient to pay by phone and not card. This is something I have yet to understand.Rob5342 said:Yes, you are paying for the convenience, the same applies to buying a car, washing machine, television, laptop etc.
I do remember paper receipts, and I also remember people writing to newspapers instead of writing posts on Internet forums. I find having a searchable list in one place more convenient.
I find it quicker to tap my phone, especially at I'll have it out anyway to scsn the loyalty app.
Overall i find it vastly more convenient to pay with my phone or watch, but I do find it odd that that people go out with just their phone and no cards. I always carry cards as a backup in case my battery goes flat etc.
Buying a phone just to pay with wouldn't make sense, but if you hsve one anyway and happen to have it out for some other purpose then it's easier to pay with it too.2
