The hoolie which has been raging all night has calmed down in the last half hour, the heavy rain has also stopped. I hope it stays that way.I did a shopping trip yesterday morning. As I had decided to not go away today needed some things. Once again I didn't linger though I did look at the vast number of different types of jeans in Tesc*. Bought a pair but they'll be going back, the search goes on. Thanks for the suggestion of culottes though they are not what I'm looking for.Yesterday afternoon my power suddenly went off. I did the Powertrack report from my mobile and then was surprised to get a phone call from SSEN. Turns out I was the only one off. The chap talked me through turning off and on again all the switches in the consumer unit, still no power. He organised engineers to come out. It took about an hour for them to arrive, a young man and a young woman who very quick discovered that the outside line on the pole was buzzing. They went off to get a cherry picker, a third person arrived to keep me company. 😁. Once they came back with the kit they spent about an hour outside in the appalling rain fixing the broken wire.I sat reading by torchlight and inwardly cursing myself for not having lit the stove. Once the power was restored I sat under the electric throw with hot coffee until I thawed out. The stalled washing machine restarted and I was eventually in bed with the electric blanket on high. Those lovely engineers worked so hard in dreadful conditions, I'm vert grateful to them for such prompt work.My night was punctuated by frequent visits to the loo, it's getting to be very distressing, Tuesday can't come soon enough though it'll take longer to receive treatment. Fingers crossed.Sending hugs to all our poorlies.13

Morning everyone Gers I’m pleased your power is back on and you have thawed out but what a rotten night you’ve had roll on Tuesday. It’s my volunteering day today it’s dry outside and it should stay that way until we get the van unloaded but I think we have showers forcast for this afternoon I will be nice and warm in the charity shop by then . Sausage casserole for tonight it’s just to warm through I bet you all think what boring meals we have it’s true I will eat anything and try anything but hubby is the worlds most plain eater and although I sometimes make myself something different I don’t every night because I get fed up of cooking. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Hi all
I’ve been AWOL, no reason - just didn’t have anything happening or exciting to say but I enjoy reading what everyone's been up to.It was wild here for a few hours last night - glad the power company sorted you so efficiently Gers.Off in the campervan for a long weekend - won’t be doing much other than some walking. Actually looking forward to shorter days and just shutting myself away for long evenings - I’m a hermit really 😂. Have a load of craft stuff to do and some work for my online shop so I can do that in peace.Hope all the poorlies feel better soon.AA12 -
Morning everyone
Just a quick hello as I need to go for my bus soon We had wind howling through the night too, but it's ok now and looks like it will be a sunny day.
I have the covers from the chair cushion on the line...I need to find a space to store them over the winter, hopefully they'll fit under little ones bed.
Gers that was very prompt service.
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off today. I'm so sorry you had such a bad night after an equally bad day but well done to SSEN for restoring service asap. I'm always grateful to people providing services to keep our daily lives running smoothly.
After a rainy night, we're forecast a day of sunny intervals and cloud this morning followed by light showers from midday for most of the afternoon. Slightly milder too at around 14 deg. Yesterday I managed to find a few more bits and pieces for the CS bag and will drop that off today before the optician visit. End of month admin to do and set up budget spreadsheet for November once I get back and that's about my day. It being Friday, it will be fish for tea.
Nothing else of importance to say so I'll wish everyone a good day and end of week. Take care all, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers - great service from SSEN. Sorry you've had a bad night, hope it improves soon.
There was a lot of rain and wind about last night but seems calmer this morning. Bedding is in the WM but that will have to stay inside today. I'm totally exhausted from changing the bed so am having a sit down on the sofa with the heated throw for a while.
The little one had her school hallowe'en disco last night, she was dressed as a cat and throroughly enjoyed herself. DD sent me a photo of her this morning, she has gone to school wearing her hair in 2 space buns with ghosties over them - cute.
Not much happening here, hope everyone is well and you have a good day.
Take care. XX11 -
Morning all
Its been very blustery here all night with rain for most of it, it’s dry for now but more rain due later this afternoon.
I am off to get my nails done this morning and then I need to pop into Mr T to get a few bits, I had my shopping delivered yesterday from Ocado and there was a bag of rocket leaves which were split open, some hash browns when I ordered chips and worst of all a packet of GF flatbread which were completely green with mould 🤢 I have emailed Ocado and am waiting for a response but we need the flatbreads for dinner tonight so I will nip in and get some.
So dinner tonight will be a chicken and flatbread thing that dd makes with a few hm chips on the side, it’s always delicious so 8m looking forward to it.
I also have to get a bag of logs, there is a chap up the road who does them, we have logs coming tomorrow but need a few for tonight, as this is our primary source of heating atm.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning allSorry to hear about your horrible day yesterday @Gers. Hope today is more peaceful. I can never get jeans to fit me as I have plenty of padding around the bottom area, to put it politely. I tried jeans jeggings and they're perfect for me. Stretchy and comfortable. Give them a try.Went to Al*i as usual this morning and their chillers had packed up so came away with hardly any of my usual stuff that I get there. Luckily I always have a Tes*co delivery on Sunday as DS puts his shopping on there too so can put some things on there.Nothing else going on here. Glad I got out into the garden yesterday as it's very dark and rainy here today.Hugs to all who need them and have a good day if you can x10

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Sorry you were without power but kudos to the engineers who sorted it for you. Sorry you are dealing with the health issue - I had concurrent UTI's over Christmas and NY last, and have had another one recently - really painful. I've upped my water intake to hopefully keep them at bay. Roll on Tuesday xx
I'm off to BFF's for the weekend. Our DH's are together in Tenerife, she has his phone on tracker so is able to spy lol! Bet they aren't spying on us doing the washing and ironing and generally keeping house!!
That's terrible from Ocado @RedRuby1231 hope they respond accordingly.
I've discovered the Sk'eye' app gives freebies, so will be getting a TTD pizza this morning - who knew??
Have a good day everyone

Afternoon, All I can say is that it’s been “a day “ and it’s not even 2pm !! It’s raining now In Northamptonshire
Woke myself up at midnight by scratching, all I can think about what caused it was the shower gel I used. The thing with me is once I’m awake, IM AWAKE. So by 3am I had cleaned the upstairs and walked the dog came back had another cuppa or 2 then started downstairs. So the house is clean, had a delivery and just waiting for someone to come and look at the broadband 12-4 .
DD2 isn’t working until Sunday so no late finishes (she works at the local hotel doing the restaurant and functions) DS2 isn’t working today so a nice day. XTrying to change my life and will:money:9
