Octopus electricity bill 26 Oct problem

Still waiting for a response to my email but I think a will have to ring.  I have never come across anything like this before.  My September bill was correct.  Standing charge 31 days @ 45.09 = 13.98.

My October bill standing charge 30 days @ 45.09 = 14.09

Both items before VAT & I have checked the rates.

If anyone has any bright ideas about what is going on I would be grateful.  How do they get the basic maths on a bill wrong.

My account still says 45.09 & usually they split it into 2 lines if there is a change.

That is what you took from 30 x 45.09 = 14.09 when it actually equals 13.53

But then again you said Sep bill correct @ 31x45.09 my calendar says 30 days in Sep and 31 in Oct. so both bills are wrong for different reasons, I can only guess .

The bills run from and to the middle of the month, so the bill received in September will be 31 days because August has 31 days.

Similarly the October bill includes the end of September which is therefore 30 days...
