Fine reduced, should I pay it

Hi. I hope someone can help with this. I've been battling Smart Parking for over 5 years now. Initially I appealed as the pay machines were out of order. They declined the appeal and I've ignored every letter since. I recently sent a response to the letter before claim telling them I had photographic evidence of the machines been out of order. They've responded by reducing the £170 fine down to £60. Should I just pay it to get it over and done with or call their bluff and continue fighting. Any help greatly appreciated.

What fine? Can you see the words fine or penalty anywhere on the paperwork?Whos car park was this? How have they cooked up the magic random figure of £170?How long over 5 years is this/how long until it's six years?

They're guaranteed to use DCB Legal for a court claim and then guaranteed to discontinue as long you as you just submit the template appeal online when the time comes.
Pay them £60 when it's their fault, or let them throw £35 down the drain on a pointless court claim? I know which I'd choose!4 -
So their invoice stands at £170 but since yo have told them you have evidence their machine was out of order they have reduced it to £60 now figure how confident they are with this! They are unregulated scammers don't fall for their bluster!2

Do not pay the scammers, it only encourages them.

It's actually not quite as long as I thought. It will be 5 years next month. It is DCB legal. I'm not going to pay it. They can't be confident if they immediately reduced the fine. My only concern is it was a huge car park. There could have been a working machine there that I didn't see. I would have thought that the onus would be on them to prove that though. Thank you all for your comments.

None of the details will matter because DCB Legal always just bluff then they discontinue Smart Parking cases before hearings.Menmas said:It's actually not quite as long as I thought. You will never pay a penny, so you are doing the right thing, as long as you don't move house without telling them.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
