Kitchen issues

We bought a kitchen from a franchise company. Installation should have lasted 4-5 weeks but stretched to almost 6 months due to multiple issues with delivery. After all this time, we still don't have replacements for all faulty parts and the company now says that the period in which they cover replacements has passed. We weren't aware of any such period because they never mentioned it to us and given that they took nearly 6 months to install our kitchen, surely, any such limits shouldn't apply?

Has anyone successfully taken a kitchen supplier to court and what was your experience? Thank you

I've not take a kitchen supplier to court, but consumer legislation in the UK has provisions for unfair contract terms. Any contractual limit on when they cover replacements would be deemed unfair if the limit expired before you had had a reasonable time to discover faulty parts. I think a court would expeect that any warranty period on a part would only start when the part was delivered to you. e.g. if the whole kitchen comes with a 12 month warranty, and a part isn't installed for 5 months, then the warranty on that part should end 17 months after the first part of the kitchen was installed.
