How do I block a payment thru online banking with Barclays?

Got an invoice in my email this morning.
"settlement of this invoice will be made on your behalf by (company name)"
Can't find any option to block payments from a specific company. This company has already nickle and dimed me enough. I will be !!!!!! if they can literally take money out of my bank account without any agreement. They do not have this and I want to make sure this doesn't go through automatically.
I've looked into the "manage payments" section on my bank account. There's a bunch of stuff there but nothing from this company.
I work nights and will be asleep for most of the day so phoning is out. So is the app, I tried registering using it.
Failing that how would I reverse a charge? I heard that is a thing?

Your post isn’t making an awful lot of sense because you talk about blocking payments from a company but then in the same paragraph them taking money from you.
you need to rewrite your post, so it makes sense. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

How did you pay them before & what is the issue with the invoice?
Without knowing the payment method used then no advice can really be given.
Although there are only 2 methods of taking payments
Direct Debit
Or Via card which could be a continuous payment authority (Which is a agreement you agreed too) Which unless you have cancelled, you have no right to claim back.Life in the slow lane0 -
The text in the email as quoted sounds like a scam / phishing message.
Then you go on to say the company has had money from you before.
Is this a company that you have purchased from previously?
What type of products?
Have you set up a CPA (continuous payment authorisation)?
What to do next does depend on the nature of prior engagement with the company (or a scam / phishing contact).
It is not always the case that blocking transactions at the bank avoids liability to pay.
You can name the company in this forum so long as anything you say about them remains factual. Doing so may mean people can comment with greater accuracy.0 -
Have you previously set up a direct debit or some other authority for them to take money from your account?
If not... a business (or person) can't just take money from your account.

Respectfully: Details *do* matter. Details matter more than anything else. The steps you may (or may not) need to take to block a payment depend *entirely* on the nature of the payment.Anyway the details don't matter. Just specifically looking for advice on options I have for blocking an incoming payment via barclays online banking. Or reversing it if they do end up taking it out automatically.
On a side note - intentionally misspelling "naughty" words to get past the profanity filters is explicitly against the forum rules and can get your account into trouble: "We use profanity filters and will act against those trying to work around them". Just use the actual word and let it be blanked out.

Without the details nobody can help you, except perhaps a clairvoyant.DingDongitsKingKong said:elsien said:Your post isn’t making an awful lot of sense because you talk about blocking payments from a company but then in the same paragraph them taking money from you.
you need to rewrite your post, so it makes sense.Them taking money from me was earlier this year. I reluctantly agreed to certain charges as it involves a re-mortage. I'm still super !!!!!! about how the whole thing was handled and I was ripped off. It's a long story and decided I won't even bother taking legal advice. Just want to move on and forget about it for my own mental wellbeing. Now I got an email saying they are gonna take more money from me. I need them to phuck off and stay there.Anyway the details don't matter. Just specifically looking for advice on options I have for blocking an incoming payment via barclays online banking. Or reversing it if they do end up taking it out automatically.

Still baffled as to why you want to block an incoming payment and then refer to them taking money automatically?DingDongitsKingKong said:elsien said:Your post isn’t making an awful lot of sense because you talk about blocking payments from a company but then in the same paragraph them taking money from you.
