Morning everyone,
It was a beautiful sky when I woke up, blue and pink, lovely to sit and watch.
I am up earlier as I have a grocery shop being delivered first thing. Apart from some tinned potatoes everything seems to be available.I have been reading along, but never thought to post. I am trying to be more in the moment and be mindful, rather than live in my head, if this makes any sense! So trying to participate more.
Plans for today are to plant up some bulbs and visit mum this afternoon, if DH back in time from visiting his brother.Take care all.

There's a light frost this morning, fields are white but not thickly covered. The upside is that the stars were visible and perhaps the grass will stop growing now. After breakfast yesterday I left immediately, did a very quick swoop into M&S for some veggies and was back home by around midday. The cleaner had been so the house was all lovely. The drive up wasn't as great as before because of intermittent, and sometimes heavy, rain.I've decided to cancel my planned trip down to Hexham for a comedy show on Saturday. I have another hospital appointment in Glasgow on Tuesday and am staying down for two days to meet up with my Dnephew who has some business meeting. Too many long driving sessions are no longer as easy as they once were.Last night I went to bed to watch the recording of GBBO only to find that there had been a power cut so no programme. Part of the plan for today is to watch it on catch-up. Instead I watched the final part of Slow Horses and the first of Down Cemetery Way, left the second episode for today.I have to take back two pairs of trousers to Marks. One too small and one too big! I have fat thighs still (think it's lipodema), waist is back to being a size 16
but legs are not playing ball. The fashion for wide legged trousers is not one I like so the hunt goes on. Perhaps jodhpurs?
There may be a fire lit today, I'm already wearing four layers of tops, will add the gilet after breakfast.@mehfin, yes, that video of the huge boulder being removed from the top of the Rest is mind-blowing, imagine that coming loose naturally and rolling down the steep hill onto the road below. There were lots of moans about having to drive the long detour, not being squished must be better.I hope that all are doing well, keeping warm and as healthy as possible. More coffee needed.14 -
Morning all
Dry here but chilly again I think the heating will be put on at the weekend.
We had a good day with Matt yesterday he had one meltdown in the morning and one chair thrown across the room but it soon de- escalated, I took their dog for a walk up the woods and got soaked when the rain came down torrentially, I then got very cold sitting in the house with Matt while we watched films and did puzzles and was freezing by the time I went home, I had a hot bath which warmed me and then lit the log burner for a cosy evening. OH also came home drenched so he did the same.
Off to see Matt again today and I think we are going to see his friends horses if he is lucky he may get a ride down the Lane, it always calms him being round the horses.
Dinner tonight is yet to be decided, I have a shopping delivery coming later so will make something quick after that, maybe something like bacon egg and chips.
Chrisca Happy Birthday to your OH xx
Camelot hope you are ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx14 -
Morning all, thanks Gers. It's quite foggy here.Speaking of trousers, I bought a new pair of jeans from marks. My usual size and length ( short
) They are too long, so either I'm shrinking or they're wrongly labelled.I had to fold them under yesterday when I met my cousins.Nice lunch but we forgot it was half term when we arranged the date and it was really busy. My closest cousin picks me up, she came early to see pooch and give him some treats so we ended up being the 1st there and decided to order our food, glad we did 'cos the others had a 30 min wait, and I knew I had to leave early. Good catch up and then DH and DGD came to pick me up so I could pop in to the hairdressers with her. DS collected her and she looked lovely. I made a cottage pie when I got back.I have a food delivery at lunchtime, couldn't get my usual slot.DH not up yet so will take the dog out.@RedRuby1231 , interesting that Matt is calm around horses, hope he gets a ride.Have a good day everyone.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning folks and thanks GERS. No starry starry start here this morning. I got up to thick fog instead. The rising sun soon saw it off but sadly the sun didn't last long so now just cloud cover.
My little bus trip yesterday was worthwhile as I got the birthday smellies as planned, then a couple of C stocking fillers from the nice shop next door. A bit of browsing followed before I tottered for the bus back home. Ilkley was quite busy, probably because of half term, and there was the usual queue outside Betty's for the restaurant. I was almost tempted into the shop area for a goodie to take home but resisted the temptation!
Today back to the same old same old, a few jobs followed by the usual slothing (is that even a word?!) A delve into the freezer for something for lunch and dinner awaits first.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x ps Happy Birthday Mr Chrisca!

Morning everyone it’s nice and bright here we had a frost this morning so the little dog was happy running around like a puppy she’s snoring now . Ruby I’m sorry I couldn’t cope with Matt I’m a wimp I take my hat off to you and hope you get someone calmer soon .im getting my eyebrows done soon always feel better when I have a face on my family laugh at me but I lost my eyebrows years ago when I was diagnosed with a under active thyroid and I’ve always drawn them on I just don’t feel feature less without them and the girl that does them now is brilliant they look like eyebrows not slugs plus she’s got a new kitten that I popped in to see yesterday she’s beautiful little pumpkin. Just had a thought I haven’t taken anything out of the freezer for tonight I will better go and have a rake through it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, glad you got home safely.
The stars were shining at 3am, I had to go out to look at them although I have no idea what any of them are - really should try and learn! When I got up again there was a heavy frost and thick fog that has now cleared and the sun is trying to break through. I've put the heating on for a while and will light the fire later.
Glad you had good days TA and Rosy.
Well done on the tax rebate Chrisca.
Your days sound busy looking after Matt Ruby, hope you can keep yourself safe.
I had a very slow walk into our little town to collect an order from Boots yesterday and will walk back in today to take the glass to the bottle bank, I need to keep moving although it's so much easier to just lay on the sofa!
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX

Thanks for starting us off today @Gers and a good morning to all. This morning's fog soon cleared and it looks as if it's going to be a mixed day of sunny intervals and cloud with a light wind. We could have a shower mid afternoon, then dry followed by more rain overnight. Top temps hovering around 8 or 9 deg.
Smart meter fitted yesterday (electric only) by a very pleasant and efficient young man. I've been amusing myself by watching the indicator on the IHD unit moving between green and orange according to what appliances are being used. Nothing so far in the red zone but I haven't used any of the energy guzzlers yet.
Once the novelty has worn off, I doubt I'll take much notice of it since my electricity consumption is pretty much the same month on month and I can't see any ways of cutting back any further than I already have done.
Today's jobs - put everything back in the cupboard (couldn't be bothered yesterday), quick dust/vac of the living room and have a rummage to see if there's anything else that can go in the CS bag. H/m chilli & rice for dinner, tonight's TV highlight will be All Creatures etc.
@Chrisca - Happy birthday to Mr C, enjoy your takeaway. Good news on the tax rebate too.
@Gers - I don't like wide leg trousers either, not a good look especially if, like me, you're vertically challenged!
@Ruby - Apparently there is an affinity between certain people and horses so maybe that's why Matt is calmer around them. I hope he gets a ride.
@TA - Glad you had a good trip out yesterday, even better that you've got some of the C-shopping done.
@Izzy - Happy "new" eyebrows! A programme I was watching last night had Bernard Ingham (former Downing Street Press Secretary) in it - he's definitely got the opposite problem. I've never seen such big bushy eyebrows!
@camelot - I know exactly what you mean about laying on the sofa being so appealing but you're right, we do need to keep moving. Have a gentle walk today.
Tea break over and duty calls so I'll wish you all a good and peaceful day. Take care, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Good afternoon all
Dry with sunny intervals. I've spent time this morning blitzing the bathroom, how does it get so messy? It's also the fact I'm seeing more clearly after having a cataract done, seeing things I missed before. It's so clean and shiny now it's a shame to use it! Once the floors dry I'll probably carry on and clean out the cupboard under the wash basin.
Shopping done yesterday. I have really been fancying a pizza, dont usually eat them, so I bought one to have tonight, and of course now I dont fancy it. Maybe I will later.
Have a good day all, take care.11
