Barclays app is driving me loopy...

Hello,

I was just wondering if I am the only one having this problem. I have downloaded the Barclays app so I can take advantage of the switching offer. The only option it gives me is "register for the app" but when I proceed that is only meant for existing customers, not new ones. When I proceed I eventually get a screen that says "please enter the same information you gave when you opened your account". I can't see any way to actually just apply for a new account? 

Am I the only one having this issue?

    As an existing customer I also can't see a way (obviously) to open a new account via the app. You might need to do it on their website via a computer

    Thanks. The website says prominently to request the change via the app. There is an option to apply online but then I worry that I might miss out on the bonus. It's so weird!

    Hi, you’re definitely not the only one experiencing this. The Barclays app can be confusing for new users — the “Register for the app” option is indeed for existing customers who already have an account. If you’re trying to open a new account, you can’t do it directly through that screen. Instead, go to the Barclays website and start the application there; once your account is created, you’ll be able to register in the app. Some users have also fixed the issue by reinstalling the app or checking for the “New to Barclays?” link on the home screen.

    You need to delete, and reinstall the app, as per the instructions in the screenshot below. (From way down the bottom of the Barclays switching offer page.) 

    I did it recently to get the switch bonus, as you have to apply for the new account via the app only....

    But I thought the OP is a new customer or have I got that wrong? Deleting the app thing I thought was just for existing customers.
