Salisbury's Bank and NatWest

Hello everyone.

This is my first post.

I closed my Sainsbury's Savings account in May. Received a Closing Statement from them on the 2nd of June.

Today I received an activation pin from NatWest for online banking. No idea why I received this, because my account has been closed for nearly 6 months.

Everyone else had similar problems?

Many thanks ... Eddy.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Just ignore it... unless you want a Nat West account?
  • Sounds like you had online access to Sainsburys Bank to access your savings account.

When you closed the savings account you would have kept the online access.

When Sainsburys savings business (together with credit cards and loans) was moved to Natwest, details of your online access will have been moved too.

The activation PIN is part of the process to resurrect this access on NatWest's systems, if you don't want access then just ignore it.
  • Thank you for your reply. I did not have online banking with Sainsbury's. It appears this is a transfer error, likely because my account was still active on May 1st when NatWest took over the banking business. I believe my details were included on the transfer list because I didn't close my account until May 22nd.

No, I definitely don't want a NatWest account. This is why I closed my Sainsbury's account so I wouldn't be transferred.
