Unidentified Direct Debit issuer
My bank First Direct has asked me to authenticate a new
direct debit instruction they have received on my current account – “STRIPE Re
Immediat” (corrrect spelling). I don’t immediately recognise it. I’ve spoken to First Direct, and they
can offer me no more information apart from its associated reference number (18
alphanumeric characters).
Can anybody help identify what body issued this DD instruction?

I know STRIPE is a payment company.

Do you have any debits under that description.
This is AI answer.
"STRIPE Re Immediate" likely refers to Stripe's Instant Payouts, a feature that allows eligible businesses to transfer funds from their Stripe balance to a linked debit card or bank account in minutes, rather than waiting for a standard payout schedule. To initiate an instant payout, log into your Stripe Dashboard, go to the "Payouts" tab, and click "Pay out funds instantly". You will then enter the amount, select a destination, and complete the payout.Life in the slow lane0 -
Is it a company that uses STRIPE payment processing?mrlongest said:My bank First Direct has asked me to authenticate a new direct debit instruction they have received on my current account – “STRIPE Re Immediat” (corrrect spelling). If you ignore the STRIPE part of the reference, and possibly also ignore the "Re" does it make any more sense?
That might then be only the beginning part of the company name.
Similar to how sumup payments show the processor before the supplier name which is then truncated.

try checking you email for "Stripe" I have payments for Football subscriptions and broadband utilities that are collected by Stripe by DD0

Best bet is to see when it was setup, how often it's been taken. If you don't know what it is, do a direct debit indemnity and recover all the payments then wait for them to contact you
It might be something you did, or someone stole your details

You could also contact Stripe and ask them, tell them if they don't tell you then you will cancel the DD and hold them liable for any consequences if it's a DD taken by them (it will make you feel better, it might not help)

If a payment has already been made, ask First Direct for a refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee
Otherwise simply cancel the DD, in your FD account0 -
Bad idea if it’s something the OP has indeed set up but it’s showing in a format that they didn’t expect.friolento said:mrlongest said:My bank First Direct has asked me to authenticate a new direct debit instruction they have received on my current account – “STRIPE Re Immediat” (corrrect spelling). Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

Worst case they will be reminded by the retailer that the payment failed, and they can then give another DD authority.0 -
Immediate Media. They do magazines like Gardner's World, Radio Times, Good Food Magazine, History Magazine and more for the BBC.43581
