Virgin Club M Account Travel Insurance

I have just had my renewal letter in for my Clum M acount travel insurance. We have pre-existing medical contitions. Called up to do the medical screening to be told that it would be an additional £521 a year to cover us. This is would no cahange from last year when they didnt charge any addtional premium. Now i know insurance underwritting can change but just wondering if other people are finding the same sitution?
Also any reccommedations for other accounts may have to go back to Nationwide

I presume you mean no change in your condition.

If "us" is two people then an extra 71p/day each doesn't seen too bad at all.

However, you are a year older, underwriters may be different etc

Nationwide have also changed their policy in the last year so moving back there may not be any better.

Doesnt require a change of underwriters to see a change in premiums, analysis from the same underwriter can show an emerging risk that they want to change the pricing for. Similarly most insurers buy reinsurance and reinsurers can change their terms which means either the insurer has to accept they are carrying a risk and so price accordingly or pay the reinsurer to change the terms/pricing and pass it on as they see appropriate.

Reinsurers drive a lot more than most people realise, especially if you are looking in areas where there are a limited number of reinsurers that insurers can buy from.

I agree when you put it as 71p per day it doesnt seem to bad.Just seems a massive jump from no extra last year to £521 especially when a stand alone travel insurance policy quote £260.
Spoke to santander and the would be and additional £51 and Nationwide £60. So looks like in will move to Santander and they offer cashback which every month with bring the account fee down to £11.
