I've just done a quick analysis of my last 6 months on Intelligent Octopus Go:
Over that period I've used 2,250 kWh of electricity.
Summer is the quiet time of year for driving, for me, and in those 6 months I have covered just 2,000 miles, so my car charging requirements are low (c.450 KWh).
Nevertheless, I have noted the following:
- most of the charging initiated by Octopus occurred outside of 23:30 to 05:30 slot, i.e during the day, thus benefitting the rest of the house;
- including car charging, my average price per kWh worked out at just over 19p per kWh; and
- excluding the car charging (at 7p per kWH), the average price paid for the rest of the house was 22.5p per kWh.
During the winter months I expect my mileage, and therefore, car charging to go up, which should further reduce the average price paid per kWh.
So, as stated by @QrizB above, with Intelligent Octopus Go, you should see a significant reduction in your non-EV kWh rate. It should be a win-win for you @F430124175, once you factor in your non-EV savings.
