Can a faulty meter correct itself?

That's an AMR meter, not what we normally mean by "smart meter". Is the supplier receiving readings automatically, or do you have read and submit manually?spc1996 said:
The meter we have is EDMI Atlas Mk10D
I'm dealing with one that wasn't property programmed by SSE (or the meter operator). It has some very strange registers, one that reads kWh but doesn't increment day by day, instead it stays static then periodically jumps up.
Are you on a single rate tariff, or do you have separate day and night rates?0 -
Your own readings must be a bit suspect. AFAIK the only meter that would give a kph reading is a speedometer, kilometres per hour.0

Hi sorry for not responding sooner I was unwell. Thank you for the advice about the SAR. I have received a response from the company saying here is a copy of the meter readings you submitted and we feel they are correct. Problem is they are for the gas meter not the electric. Then they have sent me two emails saying they are coming to remove my 3 meters. This was meant to be for someone else. I have been on the website for the meter manufacturer and they say the meter can store all the data for a long time.I asked about this on a phone call with the company and they said no. They also said there is nothing wrong with the meter but they want to come and change it, which I refused. So I think I need to get an independent check on the meter and hopefully it will show how this has happened. At the time we appear to have had the issue with the meter our alarm system was serviced and almost immediately it started sending automated phone calls saying the alarm the alarm had activated even when it was not set and we were in the building. The monitoring company said it could be caused by signal drop out, power issue. Could this have been showing a problem with the supply?0
