Phonecall from mil - her Greenstar combi is pulsing rapdily.

Seen a Whatsapp vid - it pulses a couple of times per second - like a rapid heartbeat; voom voom voom voom...
Still seem to be working ok. Showing '39', which i presume is the CH delivery temp (UFL), and green 'eco' light is on.
No error lights. Analogue pressure gauge is on the red/green border, so I'll try topping that up a tad tomorrow, but it can't be that, can it?
Any ideas? Ta.

The pressure gauge is fine if it is about 0.75 bar, leave it alone.

You don't say which model it is but Worcester 39 codes are often temperature related which could be a faulty sensor, or a real fault. Not something you can fix.

Your MiL could try powering down the boiler and leaving it a minute before restarting.

Call your favourite Gas Safe engineer out.

    Thanks.
Yes, wife, who was visiting, powered it down and on again, and it fired up and ran normally.
From what I gathered from the video clip, the '39' was just the temp, and this increased rapidly on restart, going up to around 60-odd, before then falling again.
Anyhoo, I have recommended a local GS for her to call if it does this again - it's beyond my remit.
    Thanks

If she hasn't had it serviced recently it's probably worth her getting it done now.  Better to find a problem while it's still working than waiting until she hasn't got heating

Thanks. Good call - we'll recommend that, whether the noise returns or not.
