Carers Allowance Processing Time

my carer has recently applied for carers allowance. I received a letter from DWP letting me know they were claiming. They put the claim in on 15th August this year and still haven’t received anything.
Can anyone who has recently applied for carers allowance kindly confirm how long you waited between making the application and the first payment, please? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Based on recent posts here at MSE and elsewhere, the usual waiting time is between 8 to 12 weeks.1

I applied at the beginning of october and it was sorted within 2 weeks. I applied online if that makes a difference.3
