Thanks @Gers for today's start and a good morning to all. After a very wet and windy night, today has started off with bright sunshine and virtually no breeze. Apparently it's going to stay dry all day with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, chilly again with top temps of 8 deg. I can't say I'm impressed by having to close the curtains or put the lights on so much earlier in the day!
Nothing of interest happening today, just the usual day to day stuff plus I need to ring the optician about my new glasses as one of the lenses seems to be a bit loose in the frame; hopefully it will be an easy/quick fix. Dinner tonight is a sausage casserole and I have a hankering for a couple of small dumplings to go with it. Winter fare is fast replacing the salads!
@Chrisca - Good luck with finding something for your DH's birthday. Not an easy task, especially when they say there's nothing they want or need.
@remmie - So pleased to hear you're happy with the eye that's been done. I hope procedure no.2 goes just as well.
Right, the heating has just clicked off so it's time to make a move. Have a good start to the new week, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hello all,
The day ran away with me yesterday. We had DS1 and DIL for late lunch so I did a little top up shop in the morning. Managed to catch the apple crumble again - this oven is very unpredictable. Apparently it tasted lovely - I’m still on no sugar 😇
Two loads of washing done today and a bigger food shop. Got advent calendars for the (adult) children - so dear now the price of chocolate is high. Also bought my poppy from the charming man by the check outs.I was hoping to do another tip run but the booking system is down. That will have to wait until tomorrow.Dinner tonight is grilled gammon steak and LO potatoes/veg from yesterday. Nice and simple.Have a good day everyone

Morning! My sister has just left after the weekend, we came sixth in the quiz, I made Sunday dinner yesterday and fried breakfast today, so I'm quite full and intending on doing nothing much today bar strimming the piece of grass out the front. Since next door put some boulders on it to stop people driving on it the council can't cut it, so I'll do it. Then there's some planning of what next at the allotment, the first job is put up new guttering for the shed and waterbutts, so I need to acquire another one of those [waterbutt, not shed] and I need to charge the batteries for my drill. OH is lates this week but going to Thailand on Friday so this week will probably be sorting stuff, packing stuff, he's only taking a backpack so not much of that I suppose but it's what's going to be useful or not...Lots ot hinkking today , not much action..Ruby, glad you're feeling better. Gers, enjoy your outing! Coxy, that's a good price on tea, it's 59p cheaper than anything here. Chris, good luck with present hunting, such a butt ache trying to find something for someone who has everything...Allie, glad you had a good fair, they're so unpredictable..Izzy, I'm going to come to see you and eat some pie or stew one day...you always make my mouth water. remmie, good ot hear your eye is healing well, yes, let's hope the madness stops! camelot, not long befroe your op hopefully....Rosy, well done making cards too, the few times I've tried they've been very rubbish looking
