Morning everyone
I woke at 7 and had a nice chat with eldest DD who was also still in bed in Germany. I remember when she first lived abroad I thought it was only the UK that changed their clocks. I need to stand on a chair to do my kitchen clock, so I'll give it a wipe while I'm up there, I also have a grandmother clock at the bottom of my stairs which belonged to my granny. I'll admit that it's been at the wrong time for the last 6 months!
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning and then I'm planning on a lazy afternoon with my paper. I've got a very small load of washing almost finished, just my black work trousers and two fleeces, hopefully they'll dry before the forecast rain at lunchtime.
Little one has just sent me a message to say she's going to come for a sleepover tonight, we're at Halloween crafts at the library tomorrow morning, DD must be planning on having a long lie. I haven't had little one the last 3 weekends as I had Covid, then she was ill....I'm looking forward to her chat.
Camelot - enjoy seeing your little one
DD is making progress with her application to foster, the social worker went to meet little one after school one day last week and DD only has a few more meetings before the panel at the beginning of January. She's started buying a few things as they said there's no reason she won't be approved, so I bought 10 little baby vests in one of our charity shops yesterday...they have a basket of baby things 10 for £1 !! Mind you have to dig to the bottom of the basket to find the best , most of the ones I got look like they've never been worn, They'll get a wash next time I do a light load. We have, like most towns, a lot of charity shops...this one is the cheapest but does have a charity shop smell, that most don't nowadays.
I had my hair done yesterday, it looks so much better without the white!
I'd best get on...hope you all have a good day x

I’m making a beef dinner later veg is all prepared family is calling in later so it’s a lazy day. Snoozer I thought your reading corner looked lovely nice and relaxing. DP1 how lovely your DD is going to foster I know a few foster parents hard work but very rewarding I could have a houseful of babies or little ones but not teenagers sorry. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning all
Dry and bright here and I have just put the washing on the line and started another load which can also go out.I finally tested negative this morning and my foot is feeling much better so I’m all good to go back to work tomorrow which is good as I need the money !I’m taking mum for a meds review tomorrow she takes so many pills and we want to make sure she needs them all, then after that we have an appointment at the opticians to collect her new glasses.
Dinner tonight will be the beef casserole with the short rib beef and the oxtail I am very much looking forward to it, I hope it lives up to expectations.
I steam cleaned the bathroom yesterday and will probably have another play with it later.
DP1 well done to your dd for fostering, I hope she gets on ok at panel, I had to have a panel interview with my current job and it’s not as scary as you think it will be xx
Have good days all and take care xx5 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for today's start. It's dry here for now but rain is expected later in the day and it's another chilly one with daytime temps ranging between 5 and 8 deg. All the clocks in my house change themselves, apart from the bedroom one that I'll do later today. I'm not a fan of faffing with the clocks, be it back or forward. I woke early but turned over and went back to sleep for a while until the heating kicked in. I'm really sorry if sleep eluded some of you.
A peaceful day was had yesterday and today promises to be the same, aka doing not a lot!
Today's dinner is easy enough with the last two beef kebabs from the freezer, baby potatoes and veg. I've finished jigsaw no.1 and might start another today - my fingers are still quite stiff so I have to limit the time spent on knitting or cross stitch. And I've come to the conclusion that the earache isn't earache at all, more like neuralgia. Whatever it is, I wish it would b****r off! DS and I had a phone catch up and we've decided to have a meal out to mark the first anniversary of DH's passing - due to DS's and his DP's work commitments it can't be on the actual day so date yet tbc; depending on where we go I'll stay overnight at theirs or vice versa.
Right, time for a bit of gentle pottering and then the day is my own. Have a good day and take care, catch up on missed sleep if that's what you need. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.4
