    I owe about 20.00 - they never chase up, I think that's why I'd forgotten about it. I've had some health issues. But I appreciate all the advice I really do, you are all very kind. I will ring them tomorrow.

    Offer freehold landlord less than he's asking for.  He just might sell, you'd then have a much easier to buy/sell and financially attractive property.  Understand you might not want to, but it's an option.

    Thanks, that's great advice. TBH its the solicitors fees that are annoying me, its just the winter bills are coming in and I can really do without the expense right now.

    If the leaseholder is looking to unload I am fairly sure it would be cheaper to buy now BEFORE they sell all they still own to someone else who will want their money back.
