Yes there are fakes on there, just as there are everywhere, how quickly they get removed can be variable. I've reported some obvious fakes which have been removed within an hour or so, others have been left for quite a lot longer. It is a bad business policy to knowingly allow fake/illegal goods to be sold, ebay could face issues if it can be shown they are knowingly allowing fakes and despite being warned continue to allow them. However, the sad issue is that a lot of people are happy to buy what they often call a 'dupe' and a lot go un reported.Mayaboo said:I don’t find they want to. How do they get away with it?
My facebook feed is full of people who believe it legal to sell 'dupes' and people clammer to buy a knock of Gucci bag (or whatever is currently fashionable) I could buy a dozen or more 'Turkish LV bags just from a 10 minute browse through some 'not allowed on ebay/Vinted' groups. Whilst people continue to buy these items others will continue to try and get around the rules and sell them. If certain people believe these are legal to sell, then of course many will end up on ebay/ Vinted etc. There are also the sellers, often from the Far east who are happy yo knowingly sell fakes and who when caught just start up again under a new name.
Also if you do a google search you'll find sellers who have been prosecuted for this - not major businesses generally just people who think selling knock off 'Disney' clothing, or fake 'Harry Potter' stuff and where the right owners to the name have hunted them down.

One uk seller selling French designer goods titled Japanese brand . Getting away with it for years by the look of it. Reported it , they didn’t do anything and said it was ok . 99% of what they sell is Japanese fakes.0

I sell some of my own design products and now increasingly spend time searching through websites reporting them. Temu is the worst culprit but are now quite good at removing them. I've not had anything on Ebay recently but they have removed things in the past.
They tend to have to be from the rights owner.
You can report any fakes you see to Trading Standards who may investigate.
It's an increasing problem. With my items there doesn't seem much reason to it, one copy was of an item that doesn't sell well at all, not sure why they would pick that from 100+ items, including some high volume sellers..0 -
Yes ebay did remove listings/sellers of fake or illegal goods but it was completely random. Report 3 sellers for the same illegal
product and you may find 2 of them have the listings removed and the 3rd still actively selling them.
I think it's all down to how much money that seller is making them. I found fairly new or low volume sellers had the items
removed very quickly and sometimes the accounts would be closed.
But find a seller with lots of sales and positive feedback then the listing may stay active.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Why would you want Fakes removed from Temu ? Be nothing left.RFW said:I sell some of my own design products and now increasingly spend time searching through websites reporting them. I have probably reported 50+ sellers/listings to ebay report button.
Everyone came back as "good".
Absolute joke tbh.0 -
If they have, my experience is that it's not worth the paper it's written on.Pollycat said:

I made no comment on how effective that policy is.0
