RAC Mobile Mechanics

I paid £434.16 up front and was charged £349.57. I've been waiting since 21/10/2025 to receive the £84.59 owed to me. The mechanic said he couldn't bleed the brakes so I needed to take it to a garage to have this done.
My reply to the RAC's email:"Thank you for your response.Unfortunately, I am not satisfied that the issues raised in my complaint have been fully addressed. While I appreciate the refund of £84.59, this was money that should have been returned to me regardless. I've waited over 7 weeks so far and it does not compensate for the serious inconvenience and distress caused. Most importantly, your response does not acknowledge the full seriousness of the situation I was placed in. The vehicle was not merely unsafe — it was dangerous, it had no brakes. The mechanic was unable to bleed the front brakes, yet I was still instructed to drive the car myself to the garage. This exposed me to a completely unacceptable level of risk and should never have happened. It is extremely concerning that this has not been properly recognised or addressed in your findings.Additionally, I still have not received the mechanic’s report, which was a central part of my complaint. Stating that feedback will be given does not resolve the fact that the report was never provided to me.For these reasons, I do not consider this case closed and request that my complaint is escalated to the next stage of the RAC complaints process."
The garage had the car for 7 days and the day after picking it up I sold it. I was so traumatised I just couldn't drive it anymore. Maybe I'm overreacting 🤷♀️0
