Warranty Contradiction Issue
WANTANON
I recently bought a kettle from a high street outlet that said it has a 2 year warranty on the box and in the manual. The store said it only gives the statutory ONE YEAR warranty and that I'd have to register my purchase online with the manufacturer for the second year. However the manufacturer says I cannot do that for a kettle and I should register with the seller! Consumer Rights tell me this may be classified as Misleading Sales Advice by BOTH parties. What do you all think?

Sounds like the OP has bought a kettle for their holiday home on the Danube.
In Hungary there is a statutory one year warranty for lower-value goods priced upwards of 10,000 florints (£20) which sounds about right for a kettle.
I think Hungary is the only country that has this.1
