I'm not sure, but I don't think it's possible to hide it so the mortgage must be ok with it. Yes Edinburgh. Even if rejected what would stop me going ahead? hahauser1977 said:OP hasn't said it's Edinburgh, but if it is then note you now need planning permission to use as a short term let:

No planning permission no licence and you’re legally required to display your licence number on the listing.kevinqq said:

In fact The City of Edinburgh Council fined its first unlicensed short term let landlord this week and the case has been referred to the procurator fiscal for criminal charges.
