oil fill rad

For unattended use I'd always go for an oil filled radiator or proper wall mounted convection panel or better still radiator panel - providing these arent fouled by curtains (like mine would be with longer length ones as positioned under windows to save wall space).Ive got an old 2kW DL model with its own built in timer switch - which I used to use to keep kitchen and halls around 10-12C when away on business - sometimes for 2-3 weeks.More so than I trusted the NSH - not so much fro safety - but just because they werent thermostatically controlled.I'd never do that with a fan heater or a cheap floor standing convection heater - ps you now also get hybrid models that include lower powered fan and convection element combined. The traditional oil filled run colder than the modern more responsive element look alikes - and with the oil especially as sealed - less risk of any oose (fluff / dust / hair etc) coming through into contact with the very hot elements in the others.0
