Sink for standalone 600mm unit

I have a very small utility room with a standalone 600mm kitchen unit. I want to put a sink on top of the unit but cutting out such a small worktop for a sink seems crazy/tricky. Ikea used to do a one piece sink and 600mm wide stainless steel worktop (Ammeran onset sink) which would be ideal for my situation but it has been discontinued. I have looked for similar but cannot find anything so wondered if anyone has any ideas? Thank you.

We have a ceramic one described as a laboratory sink. Ordered on line from somewhere in Dorset I recall.1

Cutting it out won't be tricky, it being strong enough to support the weight could be a problem.
Something like https://www.diy.com/departments/berkfield-kitchen-sink-with-drainer-set-silver-600x600x155-mm-stainless-steel/7720286045350_BQ.prd1 -
Would a basin type that sits on top of the unit work? Or is it too tall?Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur1

Good idea but too tall as the boiler is above.jackieblack said:Would a basin type that sits on top of the unit work? Or is it too tall?0 -
Search for a stainless steel utility room sink. A deep bowl (handy for buckets, soaking laundry etc) and without a drainer will work.

If the worktop is the same width (600mm) as the unit then you need a fairly narrow sink so there's still enough of the worktop left either side to be strong enough - cutting it so there's only a very narrow strip of wood remaining each side will make the worktop fragile, so take extra care with handling. I'd probably temporarily screw a couple of 4x1"s to the underside of the worktop as the cutting progresses to give it extra support until it is installed - or else do the cutting after fixing it to the unit, if that is a possibility.1 -
What about something commercial like this? https://adexa.co.uk/Commercial-Sink-with-Cupboard-Stainless-steel-1-bowl-Splashback-Width-600mm-Depth-600mm-Adexa-VSC66BS1

Would a sink that is usually fitted in a touring caravan or RV be any good?1
