Octopus fix coming to an end - But now have IOG for EV car electricity - switch?
I have been with octopus for ages, and fixed in Aug 2024 on their 15M fix, which is due to expire 11th Dec 2025 for me. This year we got an EV, and moved the electric to the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, the gas remained fixed.
Firstly I am thinking of fixing the gas again, as there is no exit fee on the offer they have shared this week with me by email. However, is it worth looking at moving gas elsewhere and splitting (I want to keep IOG for the EV charging).
I used Martin's cheap energy club, but also couldn't see a way of setting it up so that I have two tariffs with one supplier, e.g. IOG electric and fixed gas. Regardless, has anyone split their supplies, or is it better to stay put. I am very happy with Octopus by the way in general.
Thanks.

I have had split suppliers in the past, although I've had both gas and electricity with Octopus for the past 3-4 years.20vt-rs said:Regardless, has anyone split their supplies, or is it better to stay put. If prices spike you can switch to a different Octopus gas tariff or move elsewhere.

Actually, after drilling into the gas fix, it looks like there is a saving against my current fix of £39 per year, therefore I am going to switch that fuel regardless and can still weigh up if it's worth splitting away or not.Mortgage Free Wannabe Light Bulb Moment (Early 2012, started May 2012)

Thank you for this info, I hadn't considered the gas tracker tariff, I will take a proper look at this shortly.QrizB said:
