Morning all! I have been supremely lazy today, took my time showering dressing, had a big breakfast because we're off for tea tonight to OHs mums, so I don't want to be eating before going there. I'll make a rice pudding after and there are three loads ot wash and dry, the tumble will be on overtime today, shame it's not a freebie octopus thing going on. I will also take the soft plastic to the sm, get some butter and see if the upcycle place has a lot of leaves to collect, more ofr the leaf mould cage isn't it...The sally army took all the stuff I had so i told my sister obviously so she's up this weekend and will be bringing more stuff for me to drop off. i swear i could populate that shop from our stuff for at least a year...which reminds me, i keep forgetting to take my own bag full of stuff there...Gers, safe journey although you've probably already done it by now..I think the loo rolls and parmesan are the only reasons I go there too! camelot, glad that's sorted, the pre op that is, hopefully the op will mean less pain and stuff..NRA, this will be the fourth year I do Christmas carols! time flies...tru's been awol for five years now, but I still think about her and zeus in december..TA, well done going out and getting a seat on the bus! Izzy, that's funny, fleece on a beach in July, it's like snakes on a plane
Coxy, good to hear your back is better..Scarlet, get in the coat, why be cold when you don't have to be...life's too short to be cold or have white towels. Take care all, get well soon to the lurgified...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Good morning
Didn't get to sleep until 4 am and woke again at 6. The noise from the storm has been horrendous, still continuing. Lots of noise but I'm not going to see if there's any damage for now. Probably get blown off my feet.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning all
Still the house of lurgy here but it is on the way out we just don’t feel 100% yet not even 80% for me, I managed to talk to the gp yesterday who also thinks it could be gout (thanks Brambling) and has given me some strong painkillers which helped me to sleep last night more comfortably which is something.
Dinner tonight will be fish finger sandwiches with a few chips nice and easy and no real effort, OH is going to Morrisons today to look for oxtail (thanks Camelot) so I can make the beef casserole on Sunday I am really looking forward to it.
Camelot I’m glad the pre op went well, not too long to wait now xx
Gers safe travels xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for the start and safe travels. After a lovely day yesterday, we had rain overnight followed by more rain first thing this morning, now dry with streaks of blue showing through the clouds. It should be a dry afternoon but of course there's the usual caveat of showers possible. Highs of 10 or 11 deg and down to just 6 deg overnight. Brrr.
Change of plan yesterday - no sooner had I posted on here than I got a phone call from the optician to say my new lenses were ready for collection and would I like to pop in for them. It wasn't on yesterday's agenda but I did since it's a long walk there and back and I'd rather do it when it's not raining. While I was in the area I had a trawl of the CSs and came home with two more jigsaws (for me), two paperbacks (Xmas presents to go with the cross stitch bookmarks I'm doing) and a pack of (new) bamboo socks (also for me). I resisted looking at clothes as I have more than enough.
Weekly top-up shop done after lunch but hair wash postponed till today.
This morning the postman came with a parcel that was addressed to someone at the primary school over the road. It had two alternative delivery addresses on it - my NDN and me. I wasn't expecting anything, don't know anyone at the school and it's closed for half term anyway so I refused to accept it. He ended up posting it through my NDN's letter box so I hope she knows who it's for! Usual day to day stuff today with a tuna & mushroom pasta dish for tea.
@snoozer - Good news Steve's colonoscopy results were fine.
@izzy - So sorry to hear your friend's DH is now in hospital, it doesn't sound too good so I'm glad she will have support from her DD.
@camelot - So disappointing your op date has been moved but good you've had your pre-op assessment. If you don't have a butchers near you I'd suggest Morrisons for the oxtail too.
@NRA - It always baffles me why men are so reluctant to see a GP.
@dp1 - Lovely to hear LO enjoyed her day.
@TA - Well done on a NSD yesterday but bad luck on the bus home breaking down. Good you got a seat on the replacement and made your bus connection though. I have a stash of tea lights for emergencies, maybe I should put out one or two?
@Coxy - It sounds as if your DH is having a make-over day!
Good luck with finding some shoes.
@RR - Sorry to hear you might have gout, I hope it's just a one-off. If not, you may well have to take a daily tablet for it. A nuisance, but they do work and it's preferable to being in pain.
Right, lunch break over so I'm off to wash my hair and might even give it a blow dry - not my strongest skill - but it can't look any worse than it does now! Get well soon wishes for our poorly contingent and sleep vibes for the sleepless. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
