EON - is it a requirement to use their budget app to pay a debit

Hiya, This is quite long, but with multiple issues, but the main issue is at the bottom as a TLDR. Up until recently, our Direct Debits have been affordable. Sorry if I've missed the info, but was your meter changed about the same time as your tariff got changed / messed up?

Wonder if that introduced a gremlin into the system.
