My insurance has come up for renewal. I'm trying to do a search through the MSE site, but it wants me to enter the current market value of my house! How the hell am I supposed to know that??? Am I supposed to get a valuation done just so I can get insurance??

Guess, just like the rest of us do after comparing similarly sized properties on the likes of Rightmove.
For rebuild cost use this website https://abi.bcis.co.uk1 -
Most dont care about market value and just use rebuild but there are ways to construct a policy where it's relevant. As has been said, look at RightMove to see what properties are being advertised at and/or recently sold for.Bungle73 said:My insurance has come up for renewal.
