Hi everyone,
I've been pretty rubbish with the posting lately. Mainly because I've been feeling very frustrated with myself, I have been under the weather, nothing specific but feeling very tired most of the time and yet not able to sleep at night very well. Also the ankle I injured is still not fully recovered. I keep making plans to do things that then get shelved. Anyway, enough of my moaning, we have managed to accomplish a few things, mainly because of Steve.
The living room is repainted and the carpet has been replaced by a hardwood floor, we just need to clean the settee and chair that will remain and take delivery of a new settee and a rug and that room is finished. The hall, stairs and landing are being repainted now. It's bittersweet, removing the children's pictures and stickers. Some things I won't miss though - the marks on the ceiling where sticky toys have been thrown to peel off slowly being a case in point. The hall too had become very battered with buggies, scooters etc hitting the walls.
Steve had a colonoscopy on Monday (very prompt service, just a week after he saw the GP) which came back negative for any nasties thankfully.
Best wishes to all the poorly people and hugs to all the sad.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning everyone we have lovely sunshine it’s chilly but you can’t have everything it’s nice to see blue skies although tomorrow it has to be torrential rain all day so I have a wash load hung out they might dry if not they will hang on the airer later. I’m another who always think of people we have lost Dumpling always comes to mind the first of the month we have some lovely people on here . I’ve just finished a cleaning job Taff I have give up one of my jobs it was the man who was really poorly he’s had to go in to hospital and she’s backwards and forwards visiting and she’s not really in the house so I just suggested I call it a day she’s got family around and reading between the lines I think when something happens to him she will move in with her daughter she had a lot on her plate and I think I was one less thing for her to have to think about I was there for over 8 years so we became friends and she said she will pop in the charity shop to catch up with me but I haven’t missed it it was a good hike up a steep bank to get to her and I wasn’t looking forward to the icy weather. I’ve got my friends dog for the day another bone idle mutt they are both upside down snoring im going to finish my cuppa and they are going to be woke up and we are going for a walk . Scarlet your planting sounds lovely I was laid in bed last night making plans as you do and decided I’m going to do more gardening I’ve got a huge yard in this house we went from a garden the size of a football pitch but we laid artificial turf and I don’t know how many pots I keep changing the subject when hubby says no more plants but I’ve decided I’m going to have a project I’ve grown tomatoes peppers spring onions and strawberries in pots this year Im aiming for more next year. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all
Bright sunshine here which is good for the soul and the washing which is just about to finish.
I feel a bit better today thank goodness I am still testing positive but I think it’s on the way out, I spent a really uncomfortable night with an agonising pain in my big toe I even googled can you break your toe without knowing, it’s still very sore this morning I have no idea why perhaps it’s covid related 🤷♀️I have a parcel to collect before Friday so I will ask OH to get it for me later, he is now testing negative so is ok to go out.
I am also looking for some oxtail, I follow a traveler lady on tick-tock who made a beef casserole with short rib and oxtail I’ve got the short rib but can’t find the oxtail, does anyone know where I could get some ?I think of dear Nels most days I do miss her and our daily chats it’s funny how much someone you have never met can affect your life, and Dear dumpling too❤️DP1 sorry I must have miss read that, I’m glad she is doing ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning All
The sun is shining and the washing is out! It's lovely to see the sunshine for a change, hope it stays all day.
I forced myself to go for a walk for a couple of supplies earlier, can't believe how slow I am! Feel better for going out for some fresh air but am now absolutely exhausted. Got a phone call a couple of days ago to say the surgery has been moved to 7th November so another couple of weeks to wait yet. I was quite disappointed but there's nothing I can do.
Had a good catch up with my colleague this morning - I think she needed a good moan! I can't wait to get back to work, it's so boring being at home when you can't do much.
Glad you're feeling better Ruby, sounds like you've had a rotten time. I think a proper butchers will have oxtail, perhaps Morrisons too?
Your little one is such a star dp1, maybe telling you and her mum how she feels helps her to sort everything out in her head. Hoping she has a good time swimming.
Good result Mehefin, now for the report!
Nice to hear from you Snoozer, you may be going through a grieving process with the family moving away, hope you feel better soon.
Your garden sounds lovely Scarlet.
I too miss Nelski and Dumpling, so sad we lost them.
Hugs to all if you need one, take care. XX

Redruby just butting in to say could this be gout which is known to appear in the middle of the night when you are most dehydrated. I know you have been very sick recently so dehydration could have triggered an attack.RedRuby1231 said:I feel a bit better today thank goodness I am still testing positive but I think it’s on the way out, I spent a really uncomfortable night with an agonising pain in my big toe I even googled can you break your toe without knowing, it’s still very sore this morning I have no idea why perhaps it’s covid related 🤷♀️Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin11 -
My trip out was cheered by a huge bright rainbow over the land and sea - such a lovely sight.I also want to mention @meanmarie who's not been around for ages. I know she was ill so hope that she's still going on.@Ruby - good to hear that you're on the mend. Toe is a weird one but things do some on overnight - I once went to bed happy and healthy only to wake up with a collapsed lung (spontaneous pneumothorax). I hope that the pain eases soon.@Camelot - remember that rude word I wrote to you yesterday? It's still in my mind. At least the postponement is only one week though it's still really annoying, especially when you're in such pain. Keep resting up!

Hi All
Late one from me. Have been to DD with my friends DH to put felt on her shed, the previous one came off with the bad winds a few weeks back. Also went and did some shopping.
I remember Dumpling,Nels and meanmarie and Tru especially in December for all our carols. I think Taff did them last year.
Derek well done on getting information for your report.
Snoozer hope you feel better soon.
Ruby hope your toe improves and you test negative soon.
My DH is still suffering with his back but when I suggest a Dr appointment he just says it will get better on its own, I give up!
Forecast is bad from tonight till tomorrow night so keep safe and wrapped up
Hugs to all who want them

@Gers Nelski lived near a huge M&S and got her takeaways from a very good Indian restaurant which I'm going to on Friday.
@RedRuby1231 Morrisons sell oxtail, they also sell lamb ribs which are really tasty.

Camelot, thanks. It may be that or a post viral thing, I had covid a few weeks ago and haven't been right since. I have a bit of a history with things like that, when I was 11 I had my tonsils out and ended up being off school for a term my recovery was so slow. I'm sorry your op has been postponed, I had mine out about 15 years ago, one of the stones was about an inch in diameter (yes they did give them to me).
dp1, It must be so hard for little one at times feeling the odd one out, I hope she's feeling a bit better now.
Ruby, I hope your toe is feeling a bit better now.
Izzy, I don't blame you for calling it a day.
Mehefin, I'm sorry your relationship has fizzled, I hope you've managed to finish your report.
We just Facetimed with the children. Esben has been learning about pirates this term and today they dressed up and gave the parents a show, he was one of the three children who read from their books apparently so it seems as if he's settled in really well. Unfortunately Esther was a bit of a madam and Laura had to take her out so she missed some of the show. Esther is so like Laura as a child it's funny. We'll see them next week for the last few days of half term. We've got Nate tomorrow and then on Saturday we're off to the Wirral to Steve's sister's for a few days.9
