Vodafone headache!
Seeking Advice: Vodafone Account Still Showing as Active on Credit File
I’m hoping someone may be able to offer some guidance.
I have contacted Vodafone on several occasions regarding an active Vodafone account still appearing on my credit file. I fully paid off the account in March and transferred my number to EE shortly afterwards. However, my ClearScore report continues to show the Vodafone account as active with a £0 balance.
When I speak with Vodafone, they confirm that the account is closed and has no outstanding balance.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or can advise on the best way to get this corrected and moved to CLOSED on my credit score.

Why do you care?0

This happened to me - they still reported my account for nearly a year after I closed it. Unless they’re reporting negative information I wouldn’t worry about it.0

Credit reports... Hmm...Mine shows that I opened my current account with a well known high street bank when I was six years old.In the days long before child accounts were not even dreamt of. In the days when some of my pocket money had to be spent on a 6d savings stamp.Nothing to be done about it according to the bank concerned - "our records are now all computerised and the original paper records have all been destroyed".0

Your credit score is a totally meaningless number, you can ignore it entirely, although having a long standing account on there will almost certainly mean the made up number stays higher and will drop when the account is closed.TaGGeT said:Seeking Advice: Vodafone Account Still Showing as Active on Credit File

This is not an "issue", it will cause you no harm, no negative impact, it will not affect your ability to borrow in the future (and may marginally improve it), you can safely ignore it.0 -
This has been going on for years. There used to be a Vodafone rep on MSE who could get accounts closed for people, but the rep eventually disappeared.
It is not likely to have any impact on your life.0 -
I think Vodafone are well known for doing this, i.e. keeping on reporting accounts to CRAs for some considerable time after they have been closed and fully paid off by the customer. Eventually they do stop. But as others have said it really doesn't matter (assuming there's no debt owed). Just carry on with your life!0
